Distribute your podcast via a web feed
You need to establish a web feed so that your youth can find your podcasts. The easiest way to do this is to create a blog and use Feed Burner to create your web feed.
Blogging tools
Blogger is a very common blog service. Create a blog and then create a post with a link to your audio file. Feed Burner will add the appropriate media enclosures to your web feed.
Word Press comes in two versions...one that can be downloaded and installed (for free) on your own server or one that is hosted (but still free).
Movable Type and TypePad is another blogging platform you may want to take a look.
Web feeds
You can use your blog's native web feed, but make sure it applies the media enclosures correctly to your MP3 files. The two most common web feed types are RSS and Atom.
Set up a Feed Burner account for free and let it create a podcast friendly RSS feed automatically.
- Feed Burner's Smart Castâ„¢ feature will put in the appropriate media enclosurs.
- Enable Feed Burner's Browser Friendly Clear Feed Podcast theme to give your youth multiple options to easily subscribe to your podcast.
